Minimize Lines and Wrinkles with BOTOX

BOTOX® is currently one of the most popular cosmetic treatments for addressing age-related, aesthetic concerns. As people grow older, the skin gradually loses its natural elasticity. This results in the formation of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and eyes and at the brow and cheeks.

BOTOX® targets these creases by temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles so that surface wrinkles are dramatically reduced. These are improvements that people can gain with absolutely no cutting, tissue removal or extended recovery period.

Basic Information About BOTOX®

The muscles that cause facial expressions can become tense and fixed in place over time. This is why laugh lines, frown lines, crow’s feet and lines around the mouth are relative to a person’s most common facial expressions.

By strategically injecting BOTOX® into areas that have begun to show the common signs of aging, it is possible to block messages from the nerves that control the targeted facial muscles. In a matter of hours, these muscles will relax and the visage will take on a smoother and more youthful appearance overall.

BOTOX® Treatments Are Completed in Mere Minutes

One of the greatest benefits of BOTOX® injections is the ability to radically improve your appearance in mere minutes. Most injections take 15 minutes or less to complete.

Some patients experience slight swelling and bruising at the injection site, however, these are issues that typically abate all on their own. Although it can take from several hours to several days for the full effects of a BOTOX® treatment to make themselves apparent, it is not uncommon to see a marked improvement in the treated area immediately after the injections are done.

What to Expect

BOTOX® treatment is short and simple enough to be administered on a lunch break. Before your procedure, the provider will ask about your cosmetic goals and the facial areas that are of greatest concern. A light numbing cream may be applied to the surface of your skin in order to limit any discomfort.

Several injections may be made across all areas that are showing signs of facial wrinkling. The provider may lightly massage your skin as well in order to ensure even distribution of the BOTOX® solution. Once these measures are complete, you can return to your normal activities right away.

It is important to note that most BOTOX® injections last three to six months. Once the results start to wear off, you can revisit the provider to have the treatment performed once more. BOTOX® can be safely used several times per year for the effective removal of fine lines and moderate wrinkles.
