RADIESSE

radiesse

While many people want to erase their fine lines and wrinkles, they don’t want to undergo extensive laser or surgical procedures to do it. Dermal fillers are an excellent option for patients that want beautiful results without downtime. If you’re looking for one that is long-lasting, effective, and can be used to fix a variety of cosmetic problems, consider RADIESSE®.

Located in Ft. Lauderdale FL, eSSe Plastic Surgery provides a broad range of injectable options to meet every client’s unique aesthetic goals. If you’d like any more information about the services we offer or are interested in scheduling a consultation, contact us today.

What is RADIESSE®?

RADIESSE® is one of the most effective dermal fillers on the market today. It has been proven in clinical trials to successfully smooth out moderate to severe facial wrinkles for up to a year. In addition to the face, RADIESSE® can also be used to fill out and smooth wrinkles on aging hands. These injections are specially designed with patient comfort in mind, so they are significantly less painful than other dermal fillers.

How Does it Work?

Most dermal fillers are comprised of a hyaluronic acid gel formula that is good at temporarily relieving wrinkles, but flushes out of the system relatively quickly. RADIESSE® is different: it is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel. While hyaluronic acid gel only temporarily provides volume correction, RADIESSE® provides both immediate volume correction and sustained collagen growth. As the gel is absorbed, the body begins to metabolize its own CaHA microspheres, leaving new, revitalized collagen behind. Because of this, the results patients get from this treatment are long lasting. It also includes lidocaine, a mild anesthetic that maximizes patient comfort.

What Can RADIESSE® Treat?

RADIESSE® can correct a number of different types of facial wrinkles and folds, including:

  • Nasolabial folds
  • Marionette lines
  • Smile lines
  • Frown lines

These injections can also be used to subtly reshape the nose, cheeks, chin, brow, or jawline. RADIESSE® is effective in restoring volume and smoothness to aging hands.

Are there any Side-Effects?

Like most other dermal fillers, there are some adverse side effects associated with these injections. The most common of these include redness, bruising, and swelling at the injection site. Fortunately, these effects usually wear off within a few days.

Am I a Good Candidate for RADIESSE®?

Anyone with the desire to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles on their face or hands that has realistic expectations for treatment is an ideal candidate for RADIESSE®. While most patients who receive injections are between the ages of 35-60, anyone over the age of 18 can undergo treatment. If you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning on becoming pregnant soon, you cannot receive this treatment.
