Am I a Good Candidate for BOTOX?

You’ve heard your friends talk about it, you’ve read about cosmetic surgery in Fort Lauderdale online, and you’ve watched videos on YouTube, but you’re still not sure whether or not you’re the right candidate for BOTOX®. You’re not the only one. If you’re interested in cosmetic surgery in Fort Lauderdale, more specifically BOTOX®, below is more information to help you determine whether or not you are the right candidate.
It’s never too early to check out your options for cosmetic surgery in Fort Lauderdale. First and foremost, there’s no specific age you should or shouldn’t start BOTOX®, but you must be at least 18. In fact, many people start at age 30, but others believe wrinkles and fine lines are preventable if you start injections in your mid-20s.
What are the key deciding factors that tell you when you are ready for BOTOX®? Ultimately, our doctor will be the one to determine whether or not you will benefit from the cosmetic treatment. This depends on many different things, like where fine lines are located on your face. If they’re around or between your eyes, on your forehead or around your neck area, chances are you will benefit from BOTOX® injections.
You also want to be in good health before you consider cosmetic surgery in Fort Lauderdale, and make sure you understand that BOTOX® is not a permanent solution like a facelift or brow lift. However, if you match all of the criteria above, BOTOX® is a great solution to fade unwanted laugh lines, frown lines and crow’s feet.
There are also reasons you may not be a good candidate for BOTOX®, for example, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have a skin infection at the site area, have a muscle or nerve condition, are allergic to an active ingredient in BOTOX® or if you suffer from another severe illness or infection.
The procedure itself is outpatient and can be done during your lunch break or on your way to the office in the morning. In just 10 to 15 minutes, our doctor will inject BOTOX® into your “problem areas” with a number of tiny needles. If more treatment is needed than normal, the procedure may last a bit longer, but there’s no downtime to worry about. You are free to leave immediately after the procedure is finished.
Expect to see improvements to your appearance of wrinkles within a week after the procedure. Our doctor will work with you and your skin specifically to find the right solution. You may find you respond better to dermal fillers, which are also available at eSSe Plastic Surgery in Fort Lauderdale.
