The former Chief of Plastic Surgery at Good Samaritan Hospital in New York City, Sudarsky, built eSSe Plastic Surgery because she was intent on creating an environment where woman can feel confident, comfortable and heard – it’s that third ingredient that is so important to her.

It’s an area where, as a women, Dr. Sudarsky feels they win, that extra quality that allows female surgeons to bring to the operating table – the ability to listen to what the patient wants – and she can do it in three languages – English, French and Spanish – fluently.)
“I like to really listen to the patient and give her what she wants,” said Sudarsky. “So often doctors give patients what they perceive the patient needs, and not always what they want. I feel it’s imperative to create an environment that’s nonjudgmental.”
That’s what she had in mind when she partnered with Dr. Stokes to create eSSe Plastic Surgery.

“It’s extremely unusual to have two qualified women, board certified surgeons under one roof – we feel it’s a real bonus for our patients, said Sudarsky. “We’ve created a woman’s center of excellence in both cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery.”
Sudarsky has the skills and the bones to bring it.
Schooled in the trenches, she began her career performing trauma surgery at Bellevue Hospital Center in Manhattan.
It’s that love of the drama of trauma that still brings her around the world.
She also has a passion for reconstruction and the fulfillment it brings her. Working with woman who have undergone mastectomies to make them feel whole again, both physically and emotionally.
Because she strongly believes that every woman who needs reconstructive breast surgery get it, she worked with politicians to make it mandatory for insurance companies to cover it. Her dedication earned her a Certificate of Special Recognition by the United States Congress. Currently Dr. Laura Sudarsky is a co-investigator in the FDA trial of air expanders for staged breast reconstruction.
Advocating for women in this area, Dr. Laura Sudarsky has consulted with the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen Foundation to provide breast screening and treatment for the uninsured.
At eSSe Plastic Surgery, she is able to combine all of that and the genuine pleasure of pleasing her patients by providing excellent cosmetic surgery.
