Am I a Good Candidate for Restylane?

Restylane® is a popular injectable filler that can restore your youthful appearance without incisions, lasers or scars. After just a single treatment, you could finally get rid of cosmetic issues such as fine lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. This procedure takes just minutes to complete, and the results are fully evident after just one week.

Surgical and Over-the-Counter Treatments

Anyone who is unhappy with their appearance because of age-related blemishes has no doubt taken a look at various surgical and over-the-counter treatments. Cosmetic surgery can be very effective, but many patients are not ready for that level of commitment. Even a minor procedure can leave unwanted scars, and many patients must take a week or more off of work to recover.

An over-the-counter gel is another option, but these products rarely do anything more than hydrate the outer layer of skin. Injectable fillers such as Restylane® offer many of the same benefits as cosmetic surgery, but they have absolutely no downtime and very few side effects.

Injectable Fillers

Restylane® was first approved by the FDA in 2003, and hundreds of thousands of injections have been carried out since then. Every dose of Restylane® contains a biodegradable gel filled with hyaluronic acid. This unique substance is naturally produced by our bodies to keep our eyes, joints and skin healthy. After years of research, doctors discovered that higher doses of hyaluronic acid could trigger the body’s natural healing process. When injected near fine lines and wrinkles, your body will quickly begin to produce elastin, collagen and other vital proteins.

The Ideal Restylane® Candidate

One of the reasons why injectable fillers are so popular is because they have almost no side effects. As long as you are a relatively healthy adult with no serious skin conditions, then you will most likely make an excellent candidate for this treatment. During a consultation with one of our team members, you will learn more about how these injections work and what you can expect. Patients who have realistic expectations tend to be much more satisfied with their treatment.

A Look at Your Restylane® Appointment

These appointments can typically be completed in under 30 minutes, and you can head back to your regular daily activities as soon as the injections are carried out. While many patients require no anesthetics, a topical cream or local anesthetic can be applied to the treatment site if you are concerned about any discomfort.

The gel will immediately add volume to your face and soften the nearby wrinkles, but the full results might not be seen for five to seven days. Depending on a number of different factors such as your age and genetics, the results could last for as long as eight months.
