How to Prepare for Your Fort Lauderdale Breast Augmentation

Getting ready for natural looking breast augmentation does not have to be a tense time if you do a little planning and observe the advice set forth by our plastic surgeon. At eSSe Plastic Surgery, we know from experience that cautious preparation is one of the best ways to cut back stress and ensure everything goes smoothly so you can look forward to enjoying your new body. Below is more information on how to plan for your Fort Lauderdale breast augmentation.
Pre-Op Planning
These tips for preparing for your Fort Lauderdale breast augmentation surgery should be supplementary to any advice given by our surgeon:
Medications to Avoid
Our plastic surgeon will give you particular directions for drugs and nutritional vitamins to take before and after your surgical procedure. It is key that you observe all directions given to you by our physician.
It’s important you discontinue taking drugs or nutritional vitamins that thin the blood no less than two weeks prior to your surgical procedure. You may take drugs containing acetaminophen, akin to Tylenol, rather than aspirin or anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen.
If you are not already doing so, our physician may ask you to start taking a multivitamin and vitamin C prior to your surgical procedure to assist with the therapeutic process afterward.
Ensure you fill out your prescriptions for pain treatment, antibiotics, and any other drugs prior to undergoing Fort Lauderdale breast augmentation surgery.
Checklist for Day-of Surgical Procedure
Before your Fort Lauderdale breast augmentation surgery, make sure you follow this checklist:
• Bathe and wash the surgical areas with antibacterial soap both the evening prior to your surgical procedure and the subsequent morning. You may wash your hair and shave as normal.
• Do not eat or drink fluids after midnight if your surgical procedure is scheduled for the morning. In case your surgical procedure is scheduled for the afternoon, do not eat or drink anything eight hours before. This includes water, gum, mints, and so forth. Daily drugs cleared by your physician can often be taken with a sip of water. Make certain you do not swallow the water when you brush your teeth.
• Do not put on moisturizers, creams, or lotions unless instructed to do so.
• Put on snug, loosely fitting clothes. Ask someone you know to drive you back to your house after the surgical procedure. If you can, ensure they stay with you on the first evening and that they are easy to reach should you need any assistance over the next few days of your recovery.
