Tummy Tuck in Ft. Lauderdale, FL

For some women a protruding abdomen isn’t telling the story of the miles they logged at gym or their healthy eating habits – even the most vigilant dieters can’t achieve that flat, smooth stomach though no fault of their own.

That protruding belly could be there due to:

  • Pregnancy
  • Significant Weight Loss
  • Surgery
  • Aging

The tummy tuck, or an abdominoplasty, is just for you – it’s designed for women who cannot seem to get of the excess skin and fat in their lower abdomen. A tummy tuck will flatten the tummy by surgically removing excess skin and fat and tightening of the abdominal muscles.

So what actually happens?

Our tummy tuck procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art surgical suites under either general anesthesia and takes about two to three hours. After you’ll return to the comfort of your own home to recover the same day as surgery.

What about after surgery?

Patients will experience some bruising, swelling, soreness and possible numbness for several months following the procedure.

This is surgery, it takes time to heal. Patient may have difficulty standing erect for a few days after the surgery. You’ll need to rest and not rush the process.

Most patients are able to return to work within two to three weeks and back to their normal routines within four to six weeks. Once the swelling goes down, the abdomen will be flat and firm; however, it may take up to two years for the scars to flatten and fade.

Our doctors will review all possible complications any limitations you may have post-op and answer all of your questions ahead of surgery.

Complications include the remote possibility of excessive bleeding, infection or difficulties with the sutures. Other risks include swelling in the legs and discoloration of the skin in the abdominal area.
